Why subscribe to Codebook?
In cryptography, a codebook assists someone in decoding something that has been encrypted so that it becomes understandable. And in the social sciences, a “codebook” is what a researcher prepares to accompany their data so that other researchers can interpret it, defining the variables in the data set and what the values really mean.
I’m Kristen Soltis Anderson and my newsletter, Codebook, will decode the world around us – cultural, political, social and consumer trends – by looking at research and insights on what people think. Part social science, part political analysis, part business and marketing insights, Codebook will take polling data, social science research, and other interesting data sources to help illuminate what people want, what people think, and where society is headed.
